European Manufacturing Engineering Director


Responsibilities:
  • Manage all Manufacturing Engineering in Europe (Advanced and Current) across 4 locations in two countries
  • Develop new advanced Manufacturing Processes
  • Develop lean flexible Manufacturing Systems
    • Facilitating Kaizens
    • High level of volume flexibility
    • Optimum labor and capex balance

  • Manage European Industrial Engineering as part of Manufacturing Engineering
    • Develop time studies and standards
    • Maintain labor routings
    • Support Continual Improvement Activities

  • Manage European Capex budget
  • Manage European Projects within Capex time and budget constraints, % Capex/Sales Targets with acceptable Capability and PFMEA RPNs
  • Continually improve Manufacturing Systems in terms of capability, cycle time and labor content
  • Mange overall European M.E. Expense Budget
  • Hire, Train and Develop European M.E. Resources and Competence
  • Support Manufacturing Footprint, Make vs Make and Make vs Buy activities

Requirements:
  • University Degree in Engineering
  • automotive experience matching the description of responsibilities
  • Areas of experience preferred in Precision assembly (screwing, insertions, laser weld), cleanliness control, performance testing, leak testing, hydraulic testing, precision machining (turning, milling, drilling, grinding, EMC, EDM).
  • Experience developing and commissioning equipment globally
  • Knowledge in PFMEA, PPK, CPK, MSA, PCP, Standard Hours and Lean Tools
  • Good English language abilities.  German is a plus.
  • Structure Problem Solving
  • MS Office experience
  • Willingness to travel
